Bullet Journal Setup September 2017

If you didn’t know, I have been Bullet Journaling for a few months now.  Bullet Journaling is a great way to keep track of your personal life, track your habits, keep up with your finances and manage your time. Not to mention it’s a great way to be a bit creative. There’s something inherently cosy about putting pen to paper, it’s something I don’t do a lot as someone who is always on her phone or computer. So even if you aren’t artsy, putting pen to paper is just so much more satisfying and personal than using a digital calendar. Since the month of September finally rolled around I thought I would show you my entire monthly setup. You can find all of my supplies used at the bottom of this post

Cover Page

I was feeling very autumnal with my cover page this month, the leaves have barely began falling from the trees but the rainy days and brisk air got me feeling fall. So I decided to do a basic wreath with a ring of sparce twigs decorated by autumnal coloured leaves.  I used my Tombow blender pen to create a water colour effect and went over the down strokes of my heading to create a faux calligraphy effect.

Monthly Log

For my monthly log and September Goals page spreads I kept it simple. I used a vertical layout for the monthly log and split it into two sections for my personal and professional events. I love this style because it allows me to plan my YouTube filming and editing schedule. It’s also a really great way to see visually how much time I’m allocating for personal and professional which let’s me hold myself responsible and not get too sucked into work and neglect my personal life.  I left a small place to bullet my monthly goals for September. I also added a section for next months events so anything that props up for October or anything that I don’t achieve this month to be moved into October will go here.  Finally I have a growth tracker box to track my monthly growth on my social media platforms and this is great just to give me an idea of how my progress is going and which platforms I could maybe improve on.

Spending Log & Habit Tracker

My favourite page in my bullet journal is definitely my habit tracker. This is where I keep on track with my morning routine steps and track important parts of my self-care like sleeping 7+ hours, exercising and staying hydrated. Below it I also track my mood by rating each day with a small dot and connecting the line at the end of the month to see my mood change in graph form! The page beside it is my spending log, this is where I track my spending throughout the month. I also have small boxes for items I need to buy and my wish list which I update throughout the month.

Daily Spread

After a long time of trying different weekly and daily spreads I decided to merge the two into a to-do list styled minimalist daily spread. I have a separate collection where I basically just have projects and brain dump pages, I forgot to take images of them but they are literally just the title and a blank page. I previously was using Boho Berry’s weekly spread that tracks projects and decided to switch it out to this layout and I love it.  With my projects put down on a blank page I can fill my days on my daily spread with simple to-do lists and reminders. I also have an upcoming section to put things that I want to forward onto the next week.
